Nelson Mandela And Hallie Geier’s Messages About Peace And Social Justice To Echo Throughout Grand Central Station

As part of a week-long series to launch Mandela Day -- an annual celebration of Nelson Mandela’s life presented by 46664 and a global call to action for people to recognize their individual power to make an imprint and change the world around them – LOVE, HALLIE will present to students from various summer programs in New York City a 30-minute spoken-word piece infusing famous quotes from Nelson Mandela and the writings of Hallie Geier.

The presentations aim to inspire young people to get involved in the causes they care about by presenting the perspectives of Nelson Mandela and Hallie Geier. Mandela and Geier are two powerful examples of lives well-lived, of people who loved the world and everyone in it, and people from different backgrounds and places in life who made their imprint on the world.

The presentations will take place at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on July 13, 14, 16 and 17 within a special exhibit on Nelson Mandela at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal: Entrance at Park Avenue and 42nd Street (map)
